2024 MOOSE HUNTS – $26,000

(add $1500 charter fee)

MOOSE HUNT GEAR LIST

We do a very limited number of moose hunts, typically 2-3 a year. Moose hunts take place in Game Management Units 9, the Alaska Peninsula and Unit 16, Western Cook Inlet. The season in Unit 9 is September 5th-15th and Unit 16 is August 20th-September 25th. Our average moose taken is 61 inches and we have had over a 75% success rate. Hunters can expect to see 2-3 nice bulls while on a 10 day hunt.  Our areas do not hold large numbers of moose but have been steady producers for many years.  As in any hunting situation, a hunter must capitalize on any opportunity presented. With the Predator Control Program that the Alaska Department of Fish & Game implemented in the mid 2000’s, our moose numbers have done very well.

The Moose camps consist of either a wall tent with heater or Bomb Shelter tents. All moose hunts are one hunter to one guide and depending on the area, sometimes a packer. These camps are all accessed via Super Cub airplane. The weight limit on these hunts is 60 lbs per hunter. We spend the majority of time glassing from vantage points & calling, depending on the time of season. While hunting moose the hunter may harvest wolves at no extra charge or a black bear for a $1,000 trophy fee.

The average temperatures on these hunts is from 40-60 degrees, with everything from warm and sunny to wet and cold. Good quality layered clothing systems and the best rain gear are essential.
